Host Family, French Host, Studio or Hotel

A wide range of options are offered to suit different needs. Placements are made on a first come basis. Early application and enrollment is highly recommended to ensure that accommodation arrangements are finalized. Accommodation reservations are made as soon as the applications are received, and placement is confirmed when enrollment is completed and program fees are fully paid.

Participants receive detail of the accommodation placement pre-departure, after enrollment is completed:
1) Accommodation address
2) Description
3) Distance from the school
4) Damage deposit (for apartment or studio) that is paid to the landlord upon arrival.
(The deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay if there is no damage to the accommodation or its contents)

Accommodation starts from 12 pm on the Sunday prior to the first day of the program until 12 pm on the Saturday following the last day of their course. For example a 4-week course starting on Monday July 3 will have accommodation from Sunday, July 2 and leave the accommodation at 12 noon on Saturday, July 29.

OPTIONS

i) HOST FAMILY (Double Share or Single Room)

Live with a French family and learn about French life and culture whilst improving your French in a welcoming home. Meals are included - breakfast and dinner from Monday to Saturday. Host families are personally interviewed and selected by our on site staff. A number of factors are taken into account, such as the cleanliness and comfort of the home; nature of meals (breakfast and evening meals are varied and balanced); family presence and their ability to welcome international guests. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Choose to stay in a double-shared room (with another student) or your own single room. Daily contact with the family members will quickly enhance your understanding of local customs and culture and is an excellent way to learn and experience the French lifestyle! Placements are located 5 to 20 minutes from the school. Any special requests such as allergies, special diets, preference for non-smoking household or no pets should be stated clearly in the Application Form, and will be taken into account when placements are made. Arrival details are required at least 10 days before arrival to ensure that your host family will be home upon your arrival.

ii) FRENCH HOST (Double Share or Single Room)

Live with a French family or a French host who is a university student, or working aged from early 20s to late 40s. Fully self catered, no meals provided. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared with the host. Bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels.

Choose to stay in a double-shared room (with another student) or your own single room. Daily contact with the family or host will quickly enhance your understanding of local customs and culture and enable you to practice your French. Hosts are located 5 to 20 minutes from the school. Any special requests such as allergies, special diets, preference for non-smoking household or no pets should be stated clearly in the Application Form. Requests will be taken into account when placements are made. Arrival details are required at least 10 days before arrival to ensure that your host will be home upon your arrival.

iii) STUDIO (1 person or 2 persons)

Fully furnished studio for 1 person consisting of a main room with a kitchenette and a separate bathroom. Most studio apartments are located in the city center. Equipped with private TV, kitchen, and bathroom. Bed linen is provided.

The 2 - person studio option is ideal for couples or those interested in living in one main room with kitchen and separate bathroom. The Studio is fully furnished with private TV, kitchen, bathroom and bed linen provided.

iv) HOTEL

Two star
Located right in the center of Nice, near the school and the beach. Each room contains a private bath or shower and is equipped with modern facilities such as satellite TV, direct dial phone, hairdryer and private car parking. Total program fees include a standard single room with daily breakfast and room tax. Twin rooms (for two persons) are also available.

Three star
Located in the center of Nice near the school, and main shopping streets. Each room is completely refurbished with modern facilities such as private bathroom, personal safe, hair dryer, satellite TV, air-conditioning, courtesy tray, mini-bar, and room service. There is a bar, elegant lounge and private car park. Total program fees include a standard single room with daily breakfast and room tax.

Four star
Located in the centre of Nice and near the school. Each room is recently renovated with modern facilities including private bathroom, personal safe, air-condition, satellite TV. Range of rooms offered. Total program fees include a standard single room with daily breakfast and room tax.

EXTRA NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION

Additional nights before the program starts or after it ends, are subject to availability. For with a French Host or Family, a maximum of 3 additional nights is available. For 4 nights or more, the weekly rates will apply.

ARRIVAL & ACCESS TO ACCOMMODATION

In order to have access to your accommodation you will need to provide World Link Education with your arrival details such as day of arrival, time and place. This information is required at least 10 days prior to your arrival. For example, arrangements for keys to the studio or apartment are made in advance.
