For a comprehensive learning experience, a wide range of free activities, excurions and tours are provided to students.

To cater for individual interests, a list of places and activities is given to the student at the beginning of the course. The student then selects the activities and places of interest which he or she would like to participate in. The following activities are offered subject to availability, weather conditions, demand and course intake:

One-day ski trip (transport and ski pass)
The Beaufort cheese region
The Savoie vineyards (visit to cellars and wine tasting)
Geneva and the United Nations headquarters
Guided tours of Lyon and the Beaujolais region
Grenoble*
The Nivolet Cross
Chamonix and the Mont Blanc

The Chartreuse region
Nature trails
Mountain hikes
Local museums
Mont St Michael
The Lac Bourget ( the largest lake in France, 15 km from Annecy)
Tours of Geneva, Lausanne and Lac Leman*

Chateau tours in the Savoie and Haute-Savoie regions
Walks in the mountains and National Parks

*Tours to nearby cities are offered, however overnight accommodation during these tours are not included in the Total Program Fee.

Various optional sporting activities such as horse-riding, badminton, sailing, rock-climbing, basketball, cycling, rugby and football are available. They are not included in the Course Fee.

SKIING

Every week in winter (from October to July), depending on the snow, day trips to the biggest ski resorts in the Alps are held. Depending on the program, students may visit:

LA PLAGNE,
LES ARCS,
COURCHEVEL and
THE THREE VALLEYS
Insurance and ski rental are available at the ski resort.

Learn French in France

Lac d'Annecy
Public beaches are available for swimming and sunbathing. There are local ports at which sailing boats, rowing boats, canoes, wind-surfers, speed-boats available for hire.

Other sports organized by associations or clubs:
Aikido, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling, Dancing, Ballet: folk, jazz, modern rock and roll, rhythmic and ballroom, Fencing, Soccer, Aerobics, Handball, Ice Hockey, Judo, Karate, Kendo, Swimming, Ice-Skating, Table Tennis, Archery, Riffle Range, Sailing, Hang-Gliding, Volleyball and Yoga.
